NSE Revises Pre-Open Session Framework for Equity Derivatives. Effective Date: 7 September 2026
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has introduced changes to the Pre-Open Session framework for the Equity Derivatives segment, effective 7 September 2026.

*Note: The Order Entry Period closes randomly during the last 2 minutes, after which the Order Matching Period begins immediately.
Important Highlights :-
• Market Orders can only be placed between 9:00 AM and 9:05 AM.
• Between 9:05 AM and 9:10 AM, only Limit Orders are permitted
• Any Market Order submitted after 9:05 AM during the Pre-Open Session will be rejected by the Exchange.
• Algo market orders shall be allowed during initial 5 mins of order entry period when both limit and market orders are allowed.
• These changes are applicable to the Equity Derivatives (F&O) segment and will be effective from 7 September 2026.
