Quick Wrap: Nifty Private Bank Index gains 3.22%, NIFTY climbs 2.01%

Nifty Private Bank index ended up 3.22% at 29503.4 today. The index has gained 9.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Yes Bank Ltd rose 5.91%, ICICI Bank Ltd jumped 4.75% and HDFC Bank Ltd added 3.72%. The Nifty Private Bank index has soared 6.00% over last one year compared to the 1.88% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Financial Services index gained 2.57% and Nifty Bank index increased 2.27% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 2.01% to close at 25030.35 while the SENSEX increased 2.17% to close at 81028.02 today.
