Chinese markets extend gains as policy support lifts investor sentiment
The gains came after Beijing announced several measures to support the stock market, including targeted liquidity support, lower interest rates on loans for share buybacks, and relaxed rules for leveraged trading. However, investors remained cautious, as a lasting market recovery will depend on stronger economic growth, better corporate earnings, and improved investor confidence.
Among individual stocks, CATL gained 4.42%, BYD rose 1.29%, NAURA Technology advanced 4.76%, and Luxshare Precision Industry climbed 2.73%. On the other hand, energy stocks came under pressure as oil prices weakened amid growing hopes of a possible peace deal between the US and Iran. PetroChina fell 7.93%, CNOOC dropped 6.55%, while Sinopec declined 0.87%.
