Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company, has commissioned its 300 MW solar project for Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in Koppal, Karnataka, marking another significant milestone in its journey of developing and executing large-scale renewable energy projects across India.

TP Saurya, a wholly owned subsidiary of TPREL, is the developing company of this project.

Upon commissioning, the project is expected to generate 810 MUs of renewable energy annually and help mitigate an estimated 103,820 tonnes of carbon emissions each year, reinforcing the transition towards a cleaner energy future.

The project will supply renewable power to the SECI. A key technology feature of the project is the deployment of Solar Trackers, enabling the solar modules to track the movement of the sun and optimise energy generation. The project deploys TP580HG10NB bifacial modules. The combination of advanced tracking technology and high-efficiency bifacial modules supports efficient utilisation of the project site and enhances renewable power generation.

With the addition of this project, TPREL's total renewable utility capacity has reached 12 GW. Out of this around 7.2 GW is operational, including 5.8 GW of solar and 1.3 GW of wind capacity, while close to 4.9 GW is under various stages of implementation.
