Economic Buzz: US ISM services sector activity expands in October

Growth in activity in the United States services industry continued in October, the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) reported on Wednesday. ISM Services Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) stood at 54.5% in October, down by 0.4 percentage point compared to the month before.

The Business Activity Index declined by 2.7 percentage points to 53.8%, while the New Orders Index fell by 3.9 percentage points to 55.9%. The Employment Index rose by 1.3 percentage points to 51.4%, remained in expansion territory. The Prices Index fell by 1 percentage points to 73%.
