Nifty above 23,850; realty shares advance

The key equity benchmarks traded with modest gains in the morning trade. The Nifty traded above the 23,850 mark. Realty shares extended gains for the third consecutive trading session.

At 10:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, jumped 124.96 points or 0.16% to 77,042.81. The Nifty 50 index rose 39.30 points or 0.13% to 23,851.15.

In the broader market, the BSE 150 MidCap Index gained 0.78% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index added 0.87%.

The market breadth was strong. On the BSE, 2,605 shares rose and 1,178 shares fell. A total of 251 shares were unchanged.

New Listing:

Shares of M.K.Sons Fine Jewels were currently trading at Rs 165.45 at 10:25 IST on the BSE, representing a premium of 2.13% as compared with the issue price of Rs 162.

The stock debuted at Rs 171.60 on the BSE, a premium of 5.93% over its issue price.

So far, the stock has hit a high of Rs 174.90 and a low of Rs 163.15. On the BSE, over 11.18 lakh shares of the company were traded in the counter so far.

Buzzing Index:

The Nifty Realty index rose 1.66% to 855.35. The index jumped 4.96% in the three consecutive trading sessions.

Lodha Developers (up 3.31%), Brigade Enterprises (up 2.44%), Godrej Properties (up 2.23%), Anant Raj (up 1.99%), Aditya Birla Real Estate (up 1.88%), Prestige Estates Projects (up 1.52%), Sobha (up 1.1%), Oberoi Realty (up 1.05%), DLF (up 0.85%) added.
