04-Nov-2026 | 08:48
US stocks ended on a mixed note on Tuesday as gains in chipmakers helped the S&P 500 end a three-day losing streak, while a decline in Apple shares weighed on the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Investors awaited midterm election results that will determine control of Congress. The Nasdaq composite added to latest gains, rising 207.65 points, or 0.83%, to 25,372.01. The S&P 500 index rose 27.52 points, or 0.36%, to 7,568.92. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 197.26 points, or 0.38%, to 51,786.72. Risk appetite was weak globally as European markets slipped while treasury yields moved up.
