Nifty above 23,600 level; FMCG shares advance
At 10:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, jumped 837.91 points or 1.11% to 76,565.66. The Nifty 50 index rose 173.75 points or 0.74% to 23,614.55.
In the broader market, the BSE 150 MidCap Index gained 0.89% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index added 0.87%.
The market breadth was strong. On the BSE, 2,762 shares rose and 1,089 shares fell. A total of 235 shares were unchanged.
New Listing:
Shares of BLS Polymers were currently trading at Rs 265.05 at 10:25 IST on the BSE, representing a premium of 76.47% as compared with the issue price of Rs 150.
The stock debuted at Rs 244.10 on the BSE, a premium of 62.73% over its issue price.
So far, the stock has hit a high of Rs 270 and a low of Rs 225. On the BSE, over 38.37 lakh shares of the company were traded in the counter so far.
Shares of SFC Environmental Technologies were currently trading at Rs 424.85 at 10:25 IST on the BSE, representing a premium of 28.74% as compared with the issue price of Rs 330.
The stock debuted at Rs 354.05 on the BSE, a premium of 7.29% over its issue price.
So far, the stock has hit a high of Rs 424.85 and a low of Rs 354.05. On the BSE, over 14.46 lakh shares of the company were traded in the counter so far.
Buzzing Index:
The Nifty FMCG index rose 1.53% to 44,649.40. The index jumped 2.41% in the two consecutive trading sessions.
Marico (up 7.92%), Godfrey Phillips India (up 6.23%), Britannia Industries (up 3.23%), Varun Beverages (up 2.79%) and Colgate-Palmolive (India) (up 2.47%), Hindustan Unilever (up 2.45%), Radico Khaitan (up 2.28%), Dabur India (up 2.23%), Tata Consumer Products (up 2.19%) and Nestle India (up 1.67%) added.
