NTPC Ltd spurts 2.14%, gains for five straight sessions

NTPC Ltd rose for a fifth straight session today. The stock is quoting at Rs 317.15, up 2.14% on the day as on 12:44 IST on the NSE. The benchmark NIFTY is up around 0.72% on the day, quoting at 23102.8. The Sensex is at 74685.25, up 0.72%. NTPC Ltd has added around 0.65% in last one month.

Meanwhile, Nifty Energy index of which NTPC Ltd is a constituent, has added around 3.81% in last one month and is currently quoting at 35299, down 0.84% on the day. The volume in the stock stood at 80.43 lakh shares today, compared to the daily average of 89.12 lakh shares in last one month.

The benchmark November futures contract for the stock is quoting at Rs 314.8, up 1.45% on the day. NTPC Ltd is down 5.88% in last one year as compared to a 10.18% fall in NIFTY and a 3.51% fall in the Nifty Energy index.

The PE of the stock is 12.63 based on TTM earnings ending June 26.
