Economic Buzz: Australia's producer prices rise 3.6% in Q3

30-Oct-2026 | 10:41
Australia's producer price index (PPI) stood at 3.6% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2026, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics' (ABS) report on Friday.

Growth during this quarter was primarily driven by the construction and services industries, with building construction output increasing 1.3% while manufacturing output fell 1.3% due to lower petroleum and coal product prices.

Persistent demand for skilled labour continued to place upward pressure on labour costs across the services and construction sectors, the ABS report added.
