Jupiter Wagons gallops on Rs 1,140 crore railway wagon order
The order reflects the company's continued participation in Indian Railways' wagon procurement programme. Jupiter Wagons said its private sector order book also remained strong, supported by demand from private freight operators, wagon leasing companies and core sector customers.
The company expects incremental order inflows of approximately Rs 2,000 crore in Q4 FY27. The near-term demand outlook has also received support from a recent Ministry of Railways tender for the procurement of 5,800 BOBRN wagons, another type of freight wagon.
Managing director Vivek Lohia said the order reflected the Ministry's confidence in the company's execution capabilities. He added that the company's backward integration across the wagon value chain, including castings, bogies, couplers and brake systems, supported cost control, quality and delivery timelines. The company is also extending its integration into wheelsets through its facility in Odisha.
Jupiter Wagons provides mobility solutions across freight wagons, locomotives, commercial vehicles, marine containers and railway components. Its product portfolio includes couplers, bogies, brake systems, wheels, axles and wheelsets. The company operates manufacturing facilities across Kolkata, Jamshedpur, Indore, Jabalpur, Bengaluru and Aurangabad.
On a consolidated basis, Jupiter Wagons' net profit declined 13.61% to Rs 28.25 crore while net sales rose 46.02% to Rs 670.74 crore in Q1 June 2026 over Q1 June 2025.
