Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index registers a drop of 1.98%

Nifty IT index closed down 1.98% at 31553.4 today. The index has added 12.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Mphasis Ltd fell 3.83%, Infosys Ltd slipped 3.43% and Tech Mahindra Ltd dropped 1.92%. The Nifty IT index has decreased 12.00% over last one year compared to the 12.48% fall in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index increased 1.45% and Nifty Media index added 1.38% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 is down 0.22% to close at 22698.85 while the SENSEX has declined 0.48% to close at 73246.03 today.
