Sona BLW Precision Forgings rose 5.87% to Rs 829.95 after the company reported strong Q2 FY27 results, with net profit and revenue reaching record levels.
The company reported an adjusted net profit of Rs 223.4 crore in Q2 FY27, up 28.38% year on year from Rs 174.02 crore. Sequentially, adjusted net profit increased 23.79% from Rs 180.47 crore in Q1 FY27.

Revenue from operations rose 34.93% year on year to Rs 1,535.84 crore from Rs 1,138.29 crore. On a sequential basis, revenue increased 18.03% from Rs 1,301.20 crore in the previous quarter.

EBITDA rose 23% year on year to Rs 356 crore, with the margin declining to 23% from 25.3% in Q2 FY26. The company attributed the margin contraction to an adverse product mix and higher input costs, partly offset by operating leverage. Despite the lower margin, revenue, EBITDA and profit after tax reached their highest-ever quarterly levels.

Profit before tax stood at Rs 295.97 crore in Q2 FY27, up 30.06% year on year and 22.84% quarter on quarter.

Total expenditure increased 37.04% year on year to Rs 1,269.09 crore from Rs 926.08 crore. Raw material consumption rose 46.57% to Rs 818.48 crore from Rs 558.41 crore. Employee expenses increased 26.75% to Rs 130.60 crore from Rs 103.04 crore, while interest costs climbed 138.76% to Rs 12.32 crore from Rs 5.16 crore. Depreciation rose 10.18% to Rs 78.91 crore from Rs 71.62 crore.

Battery electric vehicle (BEV) revenue surged 129% year on year, accounting for a record 51% of automotive revenue. The company secured new orders worth Rs 3,600 crore during the quarter, taking its net order book to Rs 25,100 crore, the second-highest level recorded at a quarter-end.

Sona Comstar commercialised three new products during the quarter, including a helical limited-slip differential for electric vehicles, air springs for railway passenger coaches and rear radar sensors for two-wheelers. Its Driveline Division also received the 2026 Deming Prize for Total Quality Management.
