26-Oct-2026 | 15:17
Chinese stock markets ended mixed on Monday as investors prepared for a busy week of corporate earnings and key policy developments. The Shanghai Composite rose 0.19% to close at 3,697.5, while the Shenzhen Component fell 1.19% to 11,534.4.

Investors are closely watching earnings from Chinese technology companies to see whether heavy investments in artificial intelligence (AI) are translating into stronger profits. Technology stocks came under pressure, with SMIC falling 1.28%, Hygon Information Technology dropping 1.54%, Zhongji Innolight declining 2.96% and Eoptolink Technology losing 3.57%.

Results from major companies such as BYD, Air China and Kweichow Moutai will also be in focus. Their earnings could provide clues about the strength of domestic demand and whether consumer spending can support economic growth as China continues to rely heavily on exports.
