Nifty October futures trade at discount

HDFC Bank, Reliance and Infosys were top traded contracts.

The Nifty 27 October 2026 futures closed at 22,589, a discount of 11 points compared with the Nifty's closing at 22,600 in the cash market.

The Nifty 50 index lost 87.65 points or 0.39% to 22,600.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of the market's expectation of volatility over the near term, rose 6.32% to 16.76.

HDFC Bank, Reliance and Infosys were the top-traded individual stock futures contracts in the F&O segment of the NSE.

The October 2026 F&O contracts will expire on 27 October 2026.
