Indices pare early gains; metal shares decline
At 10:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex tanked 306.81 points or 0.45% to 72,942.58. The Nifty 50 index rose 170.50 points or 0.75% to 22,515.15.
In the broader market, the BSE 150 MidCap Index declined 2.27% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index fell 2.96%.
Sellers outnumbered buyers. On the BSE, 652 shares rose and 3,220 shares fell. A total of 218 shares were unchanged.
New Listing:
Bonfiglioli Transmissions were currently trading at Rs 565 at 10:25 IST on the BSE, representing a discount of 3.11% as compared with the issue price of Rs 586.
The scrip was listed at 43, matching the initial public offer (IPO) price.
So far, the stock has hit a high of Rs 586 and a low of Rs 527.40. On the BSE, over 12.73 lakh shares of the company were traded in the counter so far.

National Aluminium Company (down 4.91%), Hindustan Zinc (down 4.63%), Vedanta Aluminium Metal (down 4.38%), Vedanta (down 4.36%), Hindustan Copper (down 4.13%), Steel Authority of India (down 3.65%), NMDC (down 3.51%), Hindalco Industries (down 3.4%), Tata Steel (down 2.99%) and Adani Enterprises (down 2.47%) fell.
