Base Metals Preview: COMEX copper attempts recovery from a 5-week low

COMEX copper attempts recovery from a 5-week low on Friday morning in Asia but still remains down roughly 4.85% over the past month. DXY around three-week low is seen supporting the red metal although weak equities could limit upside. The Nasdaq and S&P 500 ended the day just off their lows of the session. The Nasdaq plunged 694.00 points or 2.6 percent to 26,008.86 and the S&P 500 slumped 93.74 points or 1.2 percent to 7,663.43. Currently, the counter is quoting at $6.43 per pound, up nearly half a percent on the day.
