Economic Buzz: US pending home sales fall by 7.3% in September

Pending home sales in the United States fell 7.3% in September from the previous month, the National Association of Realtors (NAR) reported on Tuesday.

On an annual basis, however, the figure sank 11.3% in the reported month. Regionally, Northeast pending sales fell 4.2% month-over-month and 9.4% year-over-year. Those in the Midwest saw a 6.5% monthly drop and an 8.7% decrease on an annual basis. Pending home sales in the South tumbled 8.2% compared to August, but slumped 12.0% compared to September 2025. In the West, home sales plummeted 9.2% on a monthly basis, while registering a 15.0% plunge compared to last year.
