Commodities Buzz: Gold net speculative long positions stay slippery

Precious metals speculators continued to reduce their net long position in the Gold futures, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Gold futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totalled a net position of 207879 contracts in the data reported through October 13, 2026, falling by 2456 contracts from the previous week and staying at two-month low.
