Precious Metals Preview: Gold lingers around $4200 per ounce mark
19-Oct-2026 | 09:31
COMEX gold is recovering on Monday morning in Asia but still stays staggered under $4200 per ounce as Fed Chair Kevin Warsh gave no signals on upcoming October rate decisions during his Friday International Monetary Fund speech. Warsh avoided signalling the outcome of this month?s FOMC meeting but noted that hotter-than-expected inflation had not changed his assessment of the US economy. The yellow metal also benefited from safe-haven demand as growing concerns over AI-related investments triggered an equity selloff and pushed bond yields lower. Currently, the counter is quoting at $4200 an ounce while silver is trading at $57.87 per ounce.
