Economic Buzz: China retail sales rise 1.1% in September

Retail sales in China went up 1.1% in September, Monday's report from the country's National Bureau of Statistics showed.

The figure was higher than expected and came in higher than the previous month's 0.4% rise.

Retail sales of consumer goods in urban areas were up 0.9% year-on-year, while those in rural areas were up by 2.3%.
