Economic Buzz: US retail sales up by 0.8% in September

Retail and food services sales in the United States advanced by 0.8% in September compared to last month's figures, landing at $745.0 billion, the US Census Bureau revealed in its report published on Thursday.

Meanwhile, compared to the corresponding month in 2025, the figure went up 6.3%. Total sales for the period July 2026 through September 2026 were up by 5.5% year-over-year.

The July-to-August change was revised to a 1.3% increase from the previously reported 1.1% jump.
