Nifty October futures trade at a discount

HDFC Bank, Reliance Inds and Yes Bank were top traded contracts.

The Nifty October 2026 futures closed at 22,993.20, a discount of 4.15 points compared with the Nifty's closing at 22,997.35 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index surged 374.65 points or 1.66% to 22,997.35.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of the market's expectation of volatility over the near term, declined 4.58% to 13.96.

HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries and Yes Bank were the top-traded individual stock futures contracts in the F&O segment of the NSE.

The October 2026 F&O contracts will expire on 27 October 2026.
