Quick Wrap: Nifty Private Bank Index rises 1.89%, NIFTY jumps 1.66%

Nifty Private Bank index closed up 1.89% at 27679.3 today. The index is up 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Yes Bank Ltd shed 14.53%, ICICI Bank Ltd rose 3.80% and RBL Bank Ltd fell 3.07%. The Nifty Private Bank index is down 0.00% over last one year compared to the 9.19% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Services Sector index added 1.83% and Nifty IT index gained 1.82% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 1.66% to close at 22997.35 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 2.11% to close at 74315.61 today.
