Gold rebounds toward $4,200 as dollar and bond yields ease

15-Oct-2026 | 14:52
Gold moved back toward $4,200 per ounce on Thursday as a retreat in the US dollar and bond yields lent support, while softer crude oil prices offered additional relief. However, gains remained vulnerable to expectations of tighter US monetary policy after September inflation came in hotter than anticipated. Annual headline inflation accelerated to 3.7%, while core inflation edged up to 2.6%, reinforcing concerns that the Federal Reserve may maintain a hawkish stance. The dollar index slipped below 102 after touching an 18-month high, with investors awaiting further comments from Fed Chair Kevin Warsh before the central bank?s media blackout begins on Saturday. On MCX, December gold futures rebounded from ₹1,47,109 to around ₹1,47,848 per 10 grams, gaining more than 1%.
