Nifty October futures trade at a premium

India VIX climbed 3.39% to 14.60.

The Nifty October 2026 futures closed at 22,650. a premium of 27.3 points compared with the Nifty's closing at 22,622.70 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index declined 99.25 points or 0.44% to 22,622.70.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of the market's expectation of volatility over the near term, rallied 3.39% to 14.60.

Infosys, HDFC Bank and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) were the top-traded individual stock futures contracts in the F&O segment of the NSE.

The October 2026 F&O contracts will expire on 27 October 2026.
