Quick Wrap: Nifty Energy Index rises 1.47%

Nifty Energy index closed up 1.47% at 36503.5 today. The index is down 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Aegis Logistics Ltd gained 6.98%, JSW Energy Ltd jumped 6.47% and Adani Energy Solutions Ltd rose 5.17%. The Nifty Energy index is up 4.00% over last one year compared to the 10.03% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Pharma index is down 1.30% and Nifty FMCG index added 1.21% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 is down 0.44% to close at 22622.7 while the SENSEX is down 0.34% to close at 72781.89 today.
