The company said its consolidated expenses increased 29% YoY. It attributed the rise in cost to serve to higher technology costs linked to more trading days, one-time client reimbursements for abnormal trades, and higher computing costs due to AI and other factors. Groww reported higher contributions from margin trading facility (MTF) and commodity derivatives in Q2 FY27, while equity derivatives activity remained softer. The share of equity derivatives in total income declined by 12.2 percentage points year-on-year, which the company attributed to market adjustments following the introduction of the Closing Auction System (CAS).

Equity derivatives premium average daily turnover (ADTO) increased 28.7% year-on-year to Rs 12,322 crore from Rs 9,574 crore. Groww?s retail market share in equity derivatives rose to 11.0% from 8.6%.

However, equity derivatives revenue declined 14.3% quarter-on-quarter, which Groww largely attributed to the implementation of CAS. The company expects activity to recover once the recommendations in SEBI?s consultation paper take effect.
