Sigma Advanced Systems signs MoU with Munitions India
Sigma Advanced Systems announced signing of an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Munitions India (MIL) for the integration, indigenous manufacturing and supply of its well established 155 mm artillery course correction fuzes (CCF), along with associated components, subsystems and technologies.
The collaboration marks a significant step in Sigma's efforts to advance its next-generation indigenous capabilities in precision-guided artillery ammunition, building on its existing defence programmes and engineering capabilities. The consortium also aims to support ongoing critical programmes of the Indian military through the development, integration and localisation of advanced defence technologies.
The initiative brings together Sigma's well proven Indian engineering and programme execution capabilities and indigenously developed technology, MIL's established ammunition manufacturing infrastructure. It aligns with the Government of India's Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat priorities, with an emphasis on developing domestic capabilities in strategically important defence technologies.
Through this collaboration, Sigma aims to facilitate technology transfer, qualification, local manufacturing and integration of advanced course correction solutions in India. The programme will leverage on the Course Correction Guidance Kit, a mature solution currently used by international customers, as part of the technology collaboration.
For Sigma, the initiative extends its ambition to move further up the defence value chain, from precision engineering and sub-systems manufacturing towards the development and integration of advanced defence systems. It also creates a platform to combine international technology expertise with Indian manufacturing and engineering capabilities to address the evolving requirements of the Indian Armed Forces.
