Economic Buzz: China inflation up from 0.8% to 0.9% in September

China's consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.9% year-on-year in September, accelerating from 0.8% in August, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Wednesday.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up by 0.2%, following a 0.4% increase in August. Meanwhile, the producer price index (PPI) rose 5.0% from a year earlier, compared with a 3.8% increase the previous month, marking its fastest growth since June 2022.
