Nifty October futures trade at a premium

India VIX dropped 7.94% to 14.04.

The Nifty October 2026 futures closed at 22,860. a premium of 138.05 points compared with the Nifty's closing at 22,721.95 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index surged 358.60 points or 1.60% to 22,721.95.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of the market's expectation of volatility over the near term, declined 7.94% to 14.04.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys and HCL Technologies were the top-traded individual stock futures contracts in the F&O segment of the NSE.

The October 2026 F&O contracts will expire on 27 October 2026.
