Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index rises 5.22%, NIFTY jumps 1.60%

Nifty IT index closed up 5.22% at 29830.1 today. The index is up 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, HCL Technologies Ltd gained 8.42%, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd rose 6.79% and Tech Mahindra Ltd added 4.93%. The Nifty IT index is down 16.00% over last one year compared to the 9.93% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index added 2.46% and Nifty Services Sector index gained 2.08% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 1.60% to close at 22721.95 while the SENSEX added 1.54% to close at 73033.78 today.
