Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index records a surge of 3.02%, NIFTY climbs 1.30%

Nifty IT index ended up 3.02% at 28574.9 today. The index has lost 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Persistent Systems Ltd jumped 5.52%, LTM Ltd rose 3.96% and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd added 3.85%. The Nifty IT index has decreased 20.00% over last one year compared to the 10.57% fall in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty FMCG index increased 2.20% and Nifty Services Sector index increased 1.63% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 1.30% to close at 22520.45 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 1.23% to close at 72472.33 today.
