BSE SME Paramount Syntex weaves a weak debut

Paramount Syntex traded at Rs 109.25 on the BSE, representing a 13.98% discount over its issue price of Rs 127.
The scrip was listed at Rs 115, a discount of 9.45% to the IPO price. The stock is currently frozen at its lower limit of 5% over its listing price.

The counter hit a high of Rs 115 and a low of Rs 109.25. About 42.66 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE.

Paramount Syntex's IPO was subscribed 1.83 times. The issue opened for subscription on 30 September 2026 and closed on 6 October 2026. The price band was fixed at Rs 119 to Rs 127 per share.

The IPO comprised an entirely fresh issue of 64.40 lakh equity shares. The promoter and promoter group holding declined to 59.63% after the IPO from 91.74% before the issue.

Paramount Syntex plans to use Rs 61.68 crore of the IPO proceeds for capital expenditure towards the purchase of machinery at its existing facilities. The remaining proceeds are earmarked for general corporate purposes.

Incorporated in 1996, Paramount Syntex manufactures synthetic fibres, dyed fibres and yarns, including acrylic, polyester, wool, nylon and blended yarns. Its manufacturing units are located at Village Mangarh, Machiwara Road, Kohara, Ludhiana, Punjab, with a combined area of approximately 7,268.73 square yards.

The company operates an integrated setup covering fibre processing, tow dyeing, hank dyeing, spinning, bulking and packing, supported by in-house research and quality control teams. It also manufactures recycled acrylic fibre from waste materials sourced domestically and internationally. The company holds ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and Good Manufacturing Practice certifications.

As on 31 March 2026, the firm had a total of 355 permanent employees in various departments.

The company's total income increased 8.68% to Rs 122.51 crore in FY2026 from Rs 112.72 crore in FY2025, while profit after tax rose 106.09% to Rs 13.87 crore from Rs 6.73 crore. EBITDA increased 79.12% to Rs 23.59 crore from Rs 13.17 crore during the same period. Total borrowings stood at Rs 33.25 crore and net worth at Rs 42.67 crore as of 31 March 2026.
