Gold held near $4,150 per ounce, whereas silver futures tumbled nearly 2% at $59.25 an ounce on Thursday, amid hawkish Federal Reserve and a firm dollar capped gains. September FOMC minutes showed all 19 policymakers backed the rate hike, with most seeing scope for another increase before year-end. The dollar index held above 102 near its strongest level since April 2025, supported by safe-haven demand amid US-Iran tensions and elevated oil prices. Investors now await US weekly jobless claims for fresh labour-market cues. On MCX, December gold futures traded near Rs 1,49,400 per 10 grams, up 0.2%, while silver futures tumbled to as low as Rs 2,20,418 per kg for the same macro reasons.
