Sensex slides 385 pts; realty shares decline
At 10:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, tanked 384.72 points or 0.53% to 72,253.98. The Nifty 50 index lost 141.45 points or 0.63% to 22,462.55.
In the broader market, the BSE 150 MidCap Index declined 0.81% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index fell 0.85%.
The market breadth was weak. On the BSE, 1,253 shares rose and 2,496 shares fell. A total of 248 shares were unchanged.
New Listing:
Shares of Nityas Gems & Jewellery were currently trading at Rs 79 at 10:19 IST on the BSE, representing a premium of 5.33% as compared with the issue price of Rs 75.
The stock debuted at Rs 82 on the BSE, a premium of 9.33% over its issue price.
So far, the stock has hit a high of Rs 83.10 and a low of Rs 77.91. On the BSE, over 4.09 lakh shares of the company were traded in the counter so far.
Shares of Vishal Nirmiti were currently trading at Rs 204.25 at 10:13 IST on the BSE, representing a discount of 7.16% as compared with the issue price of Rs 220.
The stock debuted at Rs 215 on the BSE, a discount of 2.27% over its issue price.
So far, the stock has hit a high of Rs 215 and a low of Rs 204.25. On the BSE, over 0.46 lakh shares of the company were traded in the counter so far.
Buzzing Index:
The Nifty Realty index fell 1.43% to 810.80. The index tanked 3.16% in the three consecutive trading sessions.
Phoenix Mills (down 2.17%), DLF (down 1.78%), Godrej Properties (down 1.71%), Aditya Birla Real Estate (down 1.58%), Oberoi Realty (down 1.57%), Prestige Estates Projects (down 1.41%), Lodha Developers (down 1.4%), Anant Raj (down 0.84%), Brigade Enterprises (down 0.61%) and Sobha (down 0.58%) declined.
