Nifty October futures trade at premium

India VIX rose 2.25% to 13.92.

The Nifty 27 October 2026 futures closed at 22,618.40, a premium of 15.35 points compared with the Nifty's closing at 22,603.05 in the cash market.

The Nifty 50 index lost 173.05 points or 0.76% to 22,603.05.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of the market's expectation of volatility over the near term, jumped 2.25% to 13.92.

HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel and ITC were the top-traded individual stock futures contracts in the F&O segment of the NSE.

The October 2026 F&O contracts will expire on 27 October 2026.
