L&T arm secures major order for 1,600 MW thermal power plant

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced that its subsidiary L&T Energy CarbonLite Solutions has secured a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) from DVC CIL Power (DVCCIL) for the main plant package of the 2x800 MW Chandrapura thermal power plant in Jharkhand.
The order falls under the company?s major order category, valued between Rs 5,000 crore and Rs 10,000 crore. The scope includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of boilers, steam turbines, generators and electrostatic precipitators, along with associated works.

Being developed by DVC CIL Power, the project strengthens our association with leading public-sector power utilities and will contribute meaningfully to meeting the country?s growing power requirements. Larsen & Toubro is an Indian multinational engaged in EPC projects, hi-tech manufacturing, products and services, operating across diverse domains and multiple geographies. The company had reported a 14% rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 4,123 crore on a 7% increase in consolidated revenues to Rs 67,942 crore in Q1 FY27 as compared with Q1 FY26.

The scrip fell 1.18% to currently trade at Rs 3,728.60 on the BSE.
