Commodities Buzz: Gold net speculative long positions fall to seven-week low

Precious metals speculators continued to reduce their net long position in the Gold futures, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Gold futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totalled a net position of 218632 contracts in the data reported through September 29, 2026, falling by 7221 contracts from the previous week and testing seven-week low.
