05-Oct-2026 | 11:01
The US stocks ended higher on Friday. Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.49%, while the S&P 500 index rose 0.74%, and the NASDAQ Composite index gained 1.19%. Risk appetite edged up and the US dollar fell on Friday as expectations for a Federal Reserve interest rate hike later this month decreased after soft reading on the US jobs data. The Nonfarm payrolls increased by 29,000 jobs last month, the U.S. Labor Department's closely watched employment report showed, marking the weakest growth for the metric in this year. Job growth for August was also revised down to 133,000 from a previously reported 162,000 surge.
