India's forex reserves fall $18.3 billion

India's foreign exchange reserves declined by $18.3 billion to $747.6 billion during the week ended September 25, the biggest weekly fall on record, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday.

Foreign currency assets (FCAs), the largest component of the reserves, declined by $15.6 billion to $615.4 billion during the reported week.

Gold reserves declined by $2.6 billion to $108.7 billion during the reported week, while special drawing rights (SDRs) fell by $97 million to $18.6 billion.

India's reserve position with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) declined by $86 million to $4.8 billion, the RBI data showed.
