Economic Buzz: US ISM manufacturing activity slips in September

Activity in the United States' manufacturing sector expanded at a slightly slower pace in September compared to the previous month, the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) revealed in its report released on Thursday. The Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) reached 54.5%, slipping from the 54.6% observed in August.
Meanwhile, the Employment Index rose 1.5 percentage points from August to land at 52.7%. The Production Index dipped by 1.6 percentage points to 56.7%. At the same time, the New Order Index stood at 55.3%, climbing by 1.6 percentage points on a monthly basis.
