Highway Infrastructure climbs after Rs 220.66 crore Gorakhpur Link Expressway contract

Highway Infrastructure rose 4.72% to Rs 44.56 after the company entered into a Rs 220.66 crore contract with the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) for toll operations on the Gorakhpur Link Expressway.
The contract agreement was signed on 30 September 2026 following the Letter of Acceptance received by the company on 16 September 2026. The mandate covers collection of user fees and operation of toll plazas along the Gorakhpur Link Expressway, along with the deployment of four patrol-cum-safety vehicles and required personnel.

The contract has a total value of Rs 220.66 crore and a tenure of two years. The first-year contract value is Rs 105.08 crore, while the second-year period carries a 10% annual escalation.

The order has been awarded by UPEIDA, a domestic entity. Highway Infrastructure said the contract does not constitute a related-party transaction and that its promoter or promoter group has no interest in the awarding entity.

Separately, the company announced that it had received a Letter of Acceptance from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for a Rs 24.46 crore toll operations contract at the Velanchettiyur Fee Plaza in Tamil Nadu.

The NHAI mandate covers toll fee collection and upkeep and maintenance of adjacent toilet facilities at the Velanchettiyur Fee Plaza, located on the four-lane Karur-Dindigul section of NH-7. The contract is scheduled to be executed over 90 days.

The two contracts add to Highway Infrastructure?s toll operations portfolio. The company is engaged in tollway collection, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects and real estate activities, with operations across 11 states and one Union Territory.

On a consolidated basis, the company's net profit fell 85.24% YoY to Rs 1.07 crore, while net sales surged 170.91% to Rs 303.28 crore in Q1 FY27.
