Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index falls 3.46%

Nifty Auto index closed down 3.46% at 25384.95 today. The index has slipped 11.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Bajaj Auto Ltd dropped 7.62%, Uno Minda Ltd fell 5.04% and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd slipped 4.86%. The Nifty Auto index has fallen 5.00% over last one year compared to the 9.72% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index has dropped 2.35% and Nifty Media index has slid 2.33% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.88% to close at 22421.95 while the SENSEX has slid 0.79% to close at 71909.7 today.
