BSE SME Unitec Fibres struggles to hold gains after debut

Unitec Fibres traded at Rs 89 on the BSE, representing a 1.14% premium over its issue price of Rs 88.

The scrip was listed at Rs 90, a premium of 2.27% to the IPO price. The stock is currently down 1.11% over its listing price.

The counter hit a high of Rs 93.60 and a low of Rs 86.03. About 13.06 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE.

Unitec Fibres's IPO was subscribed 3.72 times. The issue comprised an entirely fresh issue of 39.17 lakh shares. The IPO was open for subscription from 23 September to 25 September 2026, with the issue price fixed at Rs 88 per share against a price band of Rs 83-88.

The company plans to use Rs 29.90 crore of the IPO proceeds to repay or prepay all or certain borrowings. Another Rs 0.10 crore has been earmarked for general corporate purposes, while Rs 4.47 crore will be used towards issue expenses.

Incorporated in February 2005, Unitec Fibres manufactures Recycled Polyester Staple Fibre (RPSF) from recycled PET flakes, PET chips and other post-consumer polyester waste. Its products are supplied to the automobile, home furnishings and textile industries and are used in carpets, roof liners, trunks, sofas, curtains and spinning applications.

The company operates two manufacturing facilities at the M.I.D.C. Tarapur Industrial Area in Maharashtra, with a combined installed production capacity of 27,984 MTPA. It is also establishing a third manufacturing unit in Valsad, Gujarat, to expand production capacity. The company holds ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, OEKO-TEX and Global Recycled Standard certifications.

As of 31 March 2026, Unitec Fibres had 171 permanent employees across production, quality, maintenance, finance, procurement, dispatch, import-export, human resources and administrative functions.

The company's total income declined 1.00% to Rs 224.86 crore in FY2026 from Rs 227.13 crore in FY2025, while profit after tax fell 7.54% to Rs 7.60 crore from Rs 8.22 crore. EBITDA declined 9.57% to Rs 15.77 crore from Rs 17.45 crore during the same period.
