Economic Buzz: Japan retail sales drop 1.2% in August

Retail trade in Japan dropped by 1.2% in August compared to the previous month, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry published said on Wednesday.

The figure increased by 2.7% on an annual basis. Commercial sales fell by 2% month-on-month, while the seasonally adjusted value of sales in the wholesale industry went down by 1.9% compared to the previous month.
