Currency Buzz: INR tanks to nine-week low, NIFTY down around 5.80% in Sep-26

The Indian Rupee slipped today, adding to recent losses and broke above 96 per US dollar mark amid sustained decline in local equities. The Rupee is currently at 96.01 per US dollar, down 4 paise on the day. It tested 96.15 per US dollar earlier, it?s the lowest mark in around nine-weeks. Local stocks plummeted, adding to hefty losses seen in last session as weak risk appetite globally and a spike in crude oil prices weighed on sentiments. The headline NIFTY50 index fell near six-month low today and is off around 5.80% in Sep-26.
