Silver crashes near two-month low, Shanghai Silver inventories continue to swell

COMEX Silver futures slumped today as a recent slide in precious metals continued amid soaring US treasury yields and firm US dollar. COMEX Silver futures are currently down 4.72% at $61.76 per ounce, testing near two-month low. Meanwhile, Chinese Silver storage continued to rise as well. The latest data from Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) showed that total inventories on warrant in the exchange stood at 1443896 kg as on 24 September August 2026, up sharply by 36515 kg compared to previous week. The stockpiles have been rising in recent weeks. COMEX Silver futures are down around 8% this month. MCX Silver futures are down 3% at Rs 227488 per kg as weak Indian Rupee capped losses.
