28-Sep-2026 | 12:47

This week’s economic releases will be closely watched for fresh signals on global growth, inflation and the outlook for interest rates, with elevated energy prices and bond yields keeping markets on edge. The US jobs report, PCE inflation and ISM PMIs will headline a busy American calendar, while Eurozone inflation and unemployment data will offer clues on the ECB’s policy path. In Asia, China’s PMIs, Japan’s Tankan survey and Australia’s RBA rate decision will be key highlights, alongside trade and inflation data across the region.

US–Americas: The US calendar is packed with the September non-farm payrolls report, JOLTS, ADP employment, PCE inflation, personal income and spending, ISM manufacturing PMI and GDP data. Markets will also track Fed speakers and earnings from Micron and Nike. Elsewhere, Canada, Mexico and Brazil will release key economic indicators, while Brazil’s election remains an additional market focus.

Europe: Eurozone, Germany, France, Italy and Spain will publish inflation and unemployment data, offering fresh clues on the ECB’s policy path. Manufacturing PMIs, German retail sales, Eurozone business surveys and UK GDP data will also be watched, alongside Swiss inflation and KOF indicators.

Asia: China’s September PMIs and industrial profits will be key, although markets will enter a week-long National Day holiday. Japan will release industrial production, retail sales, Tokyo CPI and the BoJ Tankan survey. Australia’s RBA rate decision and inflation data will take centre stage, while India’s industrial production, South Korean trade and inflation data, and manufacturing PMIs across the region will provide additional catalysts.
