Biocon's Malaysia units receives UK MHRA approval for Semglee fill finish unit

Biocon said that it has has received approval from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), UK for its new drug product fill finish unit for Semglee (insulin glargine) at its insulin manufacturing facility in Malaysia.
In July, Biocon had secured regulatory approval from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for this new drug product fill-finish line.
The announcement was made before market hours today, 25 September 2026.
Biocon is a Bengaluru-based biopharmaceutical company focused on biosimilars and generic medicines, with operations across more than 120 countries.
The company had reported 355% jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 141 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 31 crore in Q1 FY26. Revenue from operations rose by 10% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 4,336 crore during the period under review.
The scrip shed 0.58% to currently trade at Rs 384.75 on the BSE.
